It was a big year from Bruno Mars. Unorthodox Jukebox was an amazing album, selling millions. On top of that, he had a ton of singles that all seemed to catch fire and take over pop radio. Locked Out of Heaven is just one of those. He also hosted SNL, did a slew of other awards shows, and always seemed on top of his game. Maybe that is why Billboard has just announced that Bruno Mars is their top artist of 2013.
The thing is, it makes sense. Who else would they have given the top artist of 2013 honor to? Miley Cyrus? Yes, she was in the presses, but no one was buying her album for quality of songs. Bruno Mars, on the other hand, shined in anything he did. On top of that, he seems like a very genuine guy, and that makes us like him more. Seriously, his SNL was one of the best in the last year. 2013 really was banner year for Bruno Mars. So to us, him getting top artist of 2013 makes perfect sense.
